Majorca 2019: Road Cycling

Join us on this multi day cycling trip to Majorca. We are leading a series of day rides starting from Port de Pollenca which you can plan your own private holiday around.

The core group of event leaders will be around from 11th May through to 18th May, but the length of your trip and which rides you attend is up to you - you could just come for a long weekend. We are staying independently in the Port de Pollenca area at a variety of different hotels and apartments (there is no recommended place to stay).

You can hire bikes easily in Port de Pollenca although it is recommended to book well in advance.

Sign up for the events you want and if you want we'll put you in touch with the group so that you can meet us once you arrive. Any questions, please send the event leader a direct message.

Itinerary and event links to sign up:

11th May - arrive, collect bike (suggested)

12th May - 1 Sa Calobra (Hard or Moderate)

13th May - 2 Formentor (Moderate)

14th May - REST DAY (eg Ferrocarril de Sóller or Palma)

15th May - 3 Port de Soller (Very Hard)

16th May - 4 Santuaris (Hard or Moderate)

17th May - ad hoc, return bike

18th May - depart

The aim is for most day rides to have two difficulties with two groups and two leaders, splitting on the day as required.

This ride

On this ride, we will offer a series of routes depending on ability. The longest is to ride the mountainous road to Port de Soller, and return via the Col de Soller. Subject to group discussion we might alter the main ride to a different, shorter route on the day though you would be welcome to do the full route if desired. We know already that some will be doing Sa Calobra this day as they cannot make the Sunday ride.

Notes

  • The rides may be re arranged in case of bad weather. This will be communicated to you via event message.
  • On the day the rides may be led by any member of the leadership team shown
  • Majorca is a social cycling destination. We may be informally joined by other cyclists who are not be part of OutdoorLads for all or part of the day (for example members' friends from local UK cycling clubs)
