Chat Groups and Notifications
We know our members love to keep abreast of new events going live, and also like to chat to other members in their area about all that is going on in OutdoorLads. Here's how to keep up to date and connected with all the latest!
Chat Groups / Forums
We have a range of chat groups for members to join to chat to members, ask questions, and keep social! We use the Telegram app to host these chat groups. (Any groups on other messaging platforms such as what's app or messenger, are NOT official OutdoorLads groups!)
Our forums are not formally moderated, but we do of course expect people to behave appropriately and in line with our code of conduct at all times.
To get started, you'll first need to download the Telegram app from your app store on your phone, and a desktop version is also available should you wish.
Once you've done that, click the links below to join the chat groups you are interested in:
Event Notifications
You can now also get notifications sent direct to your phone when a new event that you are interested in goes live on our website!
We do this via a system called RSS Feeds. To get it set up, you'll need to download an RSS reader app, and then visit our website to filter for the event types and locations you are interested in. You then copy and paste the URL in the results field into the app you have downloaded, and the app will send you a notification when a new event within your filters goes live. We have a handy page to explain more about how to do it.
(For clarity, the previous notification channels on Telegram that we once used for this purpose are now redundant and no longer supported - they will be deleted in due course.)
