Portland Sport Climbing

Depending on weather, whilst the Weekend on a Dorset Isle hostel weekend is on-going I'm planning to get out and make the most of the available sport climbing on Portland. Plans may have to change depending on the weather, but I'm aiming to get out there and have some fun on the coastal rocks. It would be great to share the day with others, so if you're interested, please feel free to sign up.
I've kept this short and sweet, so if you want / need further information, please feel free to drop me a message.
Here's a bit of legal stuff:
Participation statement:
As a BMC Affiliate member, Outdoorlads draws your attention to the fact that climbing is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death. You should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for your own actions and involvement. Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not necessarily qualified, do not need to be qualified, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as ‘technical experts’ but are amateur climbers with some experience and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
What to bring
ODL has some climbing equipment that I will be bringing with me, but if you have any personal climbing equipment, please do bring that with you as this will increase the number of people who can make the most of this activity.
Here's a short list of kit that could well be worth bringing, if you have any of it:
- Climbing shoes
- Climbing harness
- Helmet
- Ropes
- Quick Draws
- Slings
- Carabiners
- Belay plates
- Other gumpf...
Food & drink
Please bring your own lunch as we are likely to be away for the whole day. We may have to find a pub for a drink and some food towards the end of the day though.
