Join the Outdoorlads for an easy 5 mile linear walk from the historic market town of Petworth to the Langham brewery at Lodsworth, via the stunning countryside of the South Downs National Park. This event is timed to coincide with the Langham Brewery Pride festival.
The walk is an easy stroll suitable for most abilities. There are some gentle hills but no very steep gradients. We will start the walk with a stroll through the beautiful Petworth Park, created by iconic 18th Century landscape designer Capability Brown. It has the largest herd of fallow deer in England.
The walk continues on well maintained footpaths and quiet country lanes, passing through Upperton Vineyards and the hidden hamlet of River. We meander through to the picturesque village of Lodsworth, then a short walk downhill from there brings us to the end of the walk, at Langham Brewery.
Participants in this leisure walk event are also invited to sign up for Justin's Outdoorlads event for Langham Pride itself. The afternoon Pride session is free of charge, and food and drink (including a range of beers from the brewery, naturally) will be available. You can then enjoy music and a convivial atmosphere. From 5pm, the event becomes ticketed for the evening session (cost: £20) which includes drag cabaret and more live music!
For the return to Petworth, there is an hourly bus service. The bus continues onto Pulborough station, with regular direct services back to London Victoria and to the south coast.
