BIG SPRING CLIMB 2022

Big SPRING CLIMB 2022 - back with a vengeance

First there was Edinburgh, then London, Manchester and COVID. What could possibly be the next Big climbing event I hear you ask? Only the capital of of UK climbing, Sheffield!

There shall be bouldering, climbing, socialising and even a chance to get your hands on some real rock!

Please do sign up to the individual events you’ll be attending so we can liaise with the various centres on expected numbers and to make sure you get the discounted entry costs. 

If events are full, please join the waiting lists, we will allocate more leaders and increase capacities wherever possible.

Endcliffe Parkrun

If you have time before your morning climbing activity, join Tim for his 100th parkrun in Endcliffe Park, which is a short bus ride from the city centre.

Indoor bouldering - Beginners
Beginners very welcome, just sign up here and our leader will get you on the walls in no time

Indoor bouldering - Experienced
If you've bouldered before and are happy to sign yourself in

Outdoor climbing
Horseshoe quarry is a great place for a first taste of real rock or seasoned experts. experienced climbers only (sorry!) 

Social
A tour of the pubs and bars at Kelham Island, which is a short walk from the Sheffield city centre, food will be available at the first venue. The evening will end at The Gay Quarter, again a short walk from most city centre hotels.

What about Transport?

Sheffield has regular trains and local trams.

If you are taking the car, please car share where possible, leave a comment below if you're wanting a ride.

What about accommodation?

For this event you are free to pick your own accommodation according to your preference of budget and location (or your personal requirement for ‘luxury’...). If you have friends in Sheffield, give them a shout and see if they've a spare bed or floor space for a couple of nights. And if you have a spare room and you'd be happy to put up a fellow ODL'er (or more), then please to leave a comment below.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement

You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend. 

Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are extremely mild, or who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, is asked not to attend.
