A Wee Cumbrian Road Cycling Pre Christmas Cracker
1 people attending
7 places left
A circular ride down past Conniston Water to Grizedale and then onto Ambleside which has some challenging climbs.
This is a road cycling event for those who have not managed to get onto the Northern Christmas hostel because it is full or you did not fancy it. (People staying at the hostel for Northern Christmas do not need to sign in here)
It is for Road Cyclists ONLY! Mountain bikers will struggle to keep up with road bikes and we do want to be home BEFORE dark!
By the nature of the Cumbrian hills there will be some steep hills so you must be able to cycle 40miles easily on the flat at an average speed of 10mph
PLEASE bring lights for your bike in case we do get caught in the dark!

What to bring
Please remember this is a Winter ride so bring plenty of warm kit. Once we set off, we cannot go back to jackets etc!!!
Food & drink
IMPORTANT
As this is a long ride with some steep climbs, please bring plenty of energy bars, food and isotonic drinks as this will stop you getting tired so quicky...
We will stop if required at village shops along the way if you need to BUT please remember that these places are NOT evenly spaced out!
