Walking and Star Gazing in the Peak District Weekend

Daytime walking in the beautiful White Peak located near the fabulous Lathkill Dale. In the evening take an opportunity to see the night sky in all its spendour in a dark loaction, with no light polution. Your guide to the heavens with be Dr Ken Elliott, retired professional astronomer and ODL member for 10 years.
Portable telescopes and binoculars with be available, but if you have your own scope, do bring it along.
If its clear we should be able to see the Moon, Saturn, Uranus and maybe Neptue as well as stars and galaxies.
Most of our weekend events take place in hostels, many of which have become rather smart in recent years. However, the Reckoning House retains a basic "camping barn" feel, with simple accomodation in the centre of the Peak District. Join us in this great location for a weekend of walking 3 miles from Bakewell, with the Limestone Way and Lathkill Dale nearby.

Food & drink
The event cost includes two breakfasts, dinner on Saturday night and tea/coffee throughout the weekend.
You will need to bring your own packed lunch for Satruday and any other drinks you would like.
Dinner on Friday evening will be a buffet, and you are asked to please bring a contribution. The event leader will provide more details nearer the time.
