Join me as I navigate the pathways of the Regent and Grand Union Canals, on Independence Day. This summer evening walk, independent of the busy streets above, will take a leisurely evening walk, after work, on the 4th July.
We'll start at Kings Cross Battle Bridge square, next to the Birdcage and in between Kings Cross Station and St Pancras International, and then stroll up to the canal, and then we'll simply Go West. On our walk, we go past Camden Lock, London Zoo, Little Venice and then we'll stop for libations in Paddington basin before we make our merry ways home to bed.
As its after work, it is best to change into something more relaxing for an evening with the Lads. But do wear sturdy shoes as we'll be walking on cobbles, and gravel and be dodging hefty joggers who use the canal towpath for a sweaty jog home.
Also, do bring lots of water, as we can be most dehydrated in the evenings after work and when we've stepped off a stuffy train.
Nearest Stations - Kings Cross / St Pancras: Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Victoria, Piccadilly, Northern lines. As well as mainline, Thameslink services, or if you are eager the Eurostar from the continent.
What to bring
A change of clothes, as you'll want to walk while not wearing your best tight TM Lewin shirts and fitted suits. Sturdy walking shoes, and not nice slippy Barker shoes, are preferred.
Food & drink
As the walk is short, we will not be eating on the perambulation. It is better that you nibble on something beforehand, afterwards, or you can hand out canapes en-route.
