The Villages of Wiltshire by Bike (55km)

Join us for a gentle road cycle through the Wilshire countryside, past manor houses and small villages (imagine Midsomer Murders but with less accidents!) taking in Lacock, Corsham and the villages surrounding Chippenham. The route is a nice 55km (34miles) mostly on small roads with a few climbs and falls thrown in for good measure. Good for beginners wanting to stretch themselves, or competent cyclists wanting a more social affair.

The route starts in Sutton Benger just off the M4 J17 with ample street parking, and a couple of pubs, or if people are arriving by train (into Chippenham on the Swindow-Bath-Bristol line) the route can be easily adapted to scoop you up on our way.
From there we climb over the first half of the ride before a drop into Lacock for a snack, then continuing the undulations back around to the pubs of Sutton Benger!
Please note that ODL requires you to wear a helmet. Play safe!
What to bring
Bike: a road bike. Hybrid or Mountain will be fine, just harder work!
Helmet: OutdoorLads requires you to wear one.
Clothing: lightweight and layered, colourful and/or reflective clothing will make you more visible to other road users.
Food & drink
We will stop in a tea shop for cakes mid cycle or pub if people want more substance, but bring snacks if you like to chomp as you go.
