Come and enjoy this famous walk around the Piercefield Estate in the beautiful Wye Valley. Created by Valentine Morris in the eighteenth century it is designed to capture sweeping panoramas and join together features and areas of interest along the way.
Starting at Chepstow leisure centre the walk crosses the parkland of the original estate, walking alongside the racecourse. We will then enter the steep wooded valley above the river Wye to join the Wye way. We will take in features and viewpoints such as Lovers Leap and the Giants Cave beforel taking our time climbing the iconic 365 steps. After taking a breather at the Eagle's Nest viewpoint we will retrace our footsteps for a while before following the river back into Chepstow, talking in views of the castle.
What to bring
The route can be muddy after rainfall and some can be dusty and slippery in dry weather. Either way, it's best to have the right footwear. It can be cold and windy at Eagle's Nest so please ensure you have warm layers and waterproofs.
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch, some snacks and some water.
