We’ll start off in the Blaen Bran Woodland, seeing evidence of the old colliery, brickworks and the Blaen Bran Reservoir. Then quite a long climb will take us to the top of the Myndd Henllys ridge, with excellent views over Cwmbran and Wale’s largest ancient woodland on the horizon. We’ll then head South along the ridge to ascend the Iron Age Twmbarlwm hill fort (419m), with excellent views of Newport, Cardiff and across the Severn Estuary to Avonmouth and Exmoor. Then back along the ridge over Myndd Maen (458m) and on to Myndd Twyn Glas (472m) before heading back down throught the Blaen Bran Woodland.
