We will meet at Tunbridge Wells station at 10am and follow a route out of the town across the common, alongside the Spa Valley steam railway to the High Rocks, the first of our two sandstone escarpments. From here we will walk through Broadwater Forest to Broadwater Warren, where the RSPB are working to restore lowland heath.
After walking across the Broadwater we pass under Eridge Rocks, a 600m long sandstone cliff, designated a site of special scientific interest. We will then enter Eridge Park, a private deer park with beautiful views across the Sussex Weald, and excitingly where One Direction filmed their video for Live While We're Young, which I'm ashamed to say I've never heard of.
Leaving Eridge Park we walk through the village of Frant, past St. Alban's church and across farmland and through pine forests back to Tunbridge Wells. The Pantiles is a handsome area of the town where the original chalybeate spring is located and now plays host to a number of pubs and restaurants.
