Tough Mudder has become one of the biggest obstacle course run series in the world over the last few years, with millions raised for good causes by participants, and this is your chance to take part. The North West event is reputedly the muddiest of the UK Tough Mudder courses, so get ready to get very muddy and very wet.
We'll be completing the full course of approximately 10 miles and 20 obstacles, working as a team to get over/through the obstacles and ensure everyone finishes together. It is tremendous fun, so if you've heard about Tough Mudder and wondered what all the hype is about, come and give it a go and join in the fun, it's a great sense of achievement when you cross that finish line.
To book, please follow the link and book on the ToughMudder site (you'll need to log on to an http://www.active.com account). Select the Tough Mudder Full Participant for Saturday option, then once you've completed your booking join the 'Team ODL 2018' team - password 'GetOutMore' which is case sensitive. If we all join the team, then we will get the same start time allocated. The event start time given is approximate as it will depend on which start wave we are allocated to, but 9.00 is likely to be the earliest we will need to be there.

Want to take part for free?
If you fancy taking part for free, or for a reduced fee, why not volunteer over the weekend? You will need to pay in advance when you book, but if you volunteer to support the event on the Sunday (Saturday volunteer slots are already fully booked) you can claim a reimbursement. I will be volunteering out on the course for the day, it's a great laugh, you can have loads of banter with the participants and you're likely to get muddy all over again... A full day shift gives you full reimbursement of entry fees, a half day shift gives you 80% reimbursement. Follow the link to the volunteer site.
Other benefits of volunteering include:
Free camping onsite for the weekend (normally £29)
Free parking onsite for the weekend
Free food and drink throughout your volunteer shift
Branded volunteer tshirt and cap for wearing out on course (which you get to keep)
A chance to make new friends and find out more of what Tough Mudder is about
What to bring
It is advisable to wear old sports kit, as it will get very muddy and you may just want to thow it in the bin at the end. It is not advisable to wear a cotton tshirt or shorts, as these are slow to dry and will sap body heat.
If you are camping, please bring suitable warm clothing.
Food & drink
Water, energy drinks and high energy snacks are provided on the course. There are a couple of food stands within the mudder village which are open during the day if you need anything more to eat.
If you are camping over then you will need to bring any other food supplies that you need for the weekend (please note, you are not allowed to bring your own alcohol into the camping area, but there is a bar available).
