Enjoy Surrey Hills on a summer's day.
We will head out of Dorking to the south, heading into rolling, wooded lanes, and uphill towards Leith Hill. Passing over Leith Hill with glorious views to the south, we will head through Coldharbour, Peaslake, and Winterfold. We will head back eastwards to Westhumble and wind up Box Hill and along the escarpment, before turning southwards to enter the second, more gentle half of the ride. We'll head south through Charlwood and skirt Crawley, before turning west and then north, heading back to Dorking.
There will be some challenging hills in the first half of this ride, but you will have ticked off some of the UK's most renowned climbs, and appreciated fine scenery along the way.
What to bring
A road bike is essential for this ride.
A helmet is mandatory and must be worn while riding at all times, and anyone without one will not be permitted to start.
Please also ensure you bring: spare tube; pump; puncture repair kit; and wet weather gear.
Food & drink
This will be a long tide, so please bring plenty of water, snacks and energy bars or gels. We will stop for lunch at a suitable midway point, but there is no guarantee of finding a shop or cafe to buy it from, so please bring a packed lunch.
