We'll head off through Hambledon Village and up to Hydon's Ball,  for a scenic view out over the surrounding countryside.  We then make our way east, via Breakneck Hill, to visit the small village of Hascombe, before climbing up onto Hascombe Hill and following its ridge around where we'll have a lunch with a view.

Soon after lunch, we'll visit a modern stone circle, built 1995-1997 by the Megalithic Order of Druids using traditional methods.  With the hills behind us we head back to Witley train station via farmland and woods.

As the trains are hourly, depending on timings, we might stop at the Winterton Arms on the edge of Chiddingfold for a quick refreshment before taking on the final 3.5 km walk back to the train station (rather than wait around at the pub free train station.)

Note : for those who joined me on the long walk from Witley in May - this is basically the start and end of that walk ! It's too nice not to do it as a shorter walk !
