Styal Woods and the Airport
10 people attending
5 places left
A leisurely walk from Styal, home to Quarry Bank Mill, a National Trust site and one of Britains greatest industrial heritage sites.
After walking pass the the Mill, we will head out along the River Bollin Valley towards Mobberley until we meet the airport perimeter. We then continue along a mixture of footpaths and quiet roads along the Southside of the 2nd runway to the end of the runway before crossing to return along the north side of the second runway.
To get back across the runway we will pass under via the River Bollington Tunnel.
Unfortunately the walk will be frequently disturbed by aircraft noise, but some sections of the walk will offer opportunities to view aircraft at close quarters assuming the 2nd runway is in use.
There should be the opportunity to visit a pub at the end of the walk for anyone who wishes.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, here, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are extremely mild, or who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, is asked not to attend.
What to bring
The majority of the walk is on good paths, but short sections of mud can be expected so boots are recommended, rather than your best trainers or leather shoes.
Food & drink
Please bring a packed lunch with plenty of food and drink to last you all day.
