This is a relaxed and social paddling event, although weather conditions could make sections a little more tricky.

Come join us on a regular Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) Social in Cardiff Bay. We will be joining a weekly mixed SUP Social event from the Cardiff International White Water Centre (CIWW) in Cardiff Bay. Depending on the weather we will be heading across the Bay itself and onto the Taff or up out onto the River Ely, getting a different perspective of Cardiff and its waterways. At this time of year we will get to see the sun set and also paddle the last stretch in the dark - a fun and unique perspective of the Bay.

REQUIREMENTS: It is a pre-requisite that you have some taster experience of SUP, and a CIWW Membership Card - £5, valid for 12 months, available to buy from reception.

if you want to get some experience then CIWW run 2 hour taster sessions from the same venue and are highly recommended. If you have any questions please get in touch.

This is not a coached activity, but there are a number of qualified and experienced SUP instructors taking part. This event is organised and run by CIWW and is not exclusive to Outdoor Lads but is regularly attended by members of the LGBT community and it is a welcoming, relaxed and friendly group.

Bookings are  made direct CIWW and the cost is £12 including all kit (£6 if you bring your own board and equipment). Please book early as the sessions can fill up!

Bookings can be made by calling 029 2082 9970 and asking to join the SUP Social on Oct 6th. Further information about the event can be found on the CIWW website

Located in the heart of the International Sports Village in Cardiff, CIWW is home to the UK’s very first on-demand Olympic standard White Water Rafting and Indoor Wave facility. As well as being a purpose built white water centre it provides launch points for sheltered water training areas and access to Cardiff Bay and the River Ely.
