Solway Coast Circular Cycle

Join us for a 40-45 mile circuit taking in some quiet roads to the south east of Dumfries - an area as yet relatively unexplored by ODL.
Our route will take us down the east side of the Nith estuary and past Caerlaverock castle and national nature reserve, following part of the national cycle network route 7 along the B725. After a lunch stop in Annan, we'll head inland following either B class or minor roads via Lochmaben and Sheildhill back to Dumfries.
The outward coastal sections of the route will be relatively flat, but there will be a few relatively short climbs on the return leg from Annan - but definitely worth it to avoid busy main roads!
Food & drink
It is planned to include a lunch stop at either a pub or cafe in Annan, but as much of the ride is isolated from towns and villages it would be a good idea to bring some spare food and plenty of fluids.
