Join me as I walk sections of Fife's coastal path. Normally walked south-to-north, we'll go the other way for a change. I have never been in the area (nor pre-walked the path) so we'll get to discover it together. It's summer, so let's hope for warmth and sun, make the most of the longer days and do feel free to pack swimwear!

You can see the route here: first section / second section

Here's some information on the walk I found while researching: today's walk is one of the most popular sections of Fife, passing picturesque fishing villages. The path is straightforward with great views. Sorry for the brevity, but hey it means the rest is to be discovered ;)

As standard, I'll send an email before the event with weather updates and lunch options, depending how many we are, although for now please allow for a packed lunch.

Transport:

On public transport, it is possible to reach Crail by bus from Dundee (frequent services from Dundee to St Andrews, and bus 95 from here). From Edinburgh there is also the option of taking a bus to St. Andrews, or Leven, and changing bus there.

If you are planning to walk the previous section on Sunday, I would suggest looking into accommodation locally and making a weekend out of it.

On the way back, Stagecoach bus 95 links St Monans to Crail if needed to go back to parked cars.

Edinburgh Social - link

For those attending the Edinburgh social in the evening (meeting time at 7:30pm) and travelling on public transport, the 17:02 Stagecoach X60 bus from St Monas Station Road is scheduled to arrive at West End, Queensferry Street (bus stop in Edinburgh) at 19:06 and this is a short walk to the EICC, where the social is meeting up. We will make sure to make this bus.

Note that all the above timings are from quick searches, please check your own travel plans, including parking options if you plan to drive, and don't rely on these timings! If you spot something wrong, let me know so I can correct it here.

Accommodation

If you are joining on the Tuesday walk too and wish to stay in the area, there are plenty of accommodation options. St Monans has a bed & breakfast and hotel, there is a hostel in Anstruther and St. Andrews is within easy reach by bus, with many other options. I will personally be staying in the area, feel free to message me if you plan to do the same.
