This 10 mile circular walk takes us from Saltaire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to Druids Alter and the St Ives Estate. We will start our walk on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal towards Bingley. At the Three-Rise Locks we will make our way across Old Bingley to the River Aire before walking into open pasture and up to Druids Altar. This rocky outcrop has delighful views over the Aire Valley. Our walk then takes us into the St Ives Country Estate, walking across moorland and though woodland via Lady Blantyre's Rock. We finish our walk through Myrtle Park where we re-join the River Aire back into Saltaire, hopefully in time for a cup of tea at the David Hockney Gallery.
What to bring
Please wear walking shoes and bring waterproofs and warm clothing suitable for a winter walk. Some of the walk is likely to be muddy.
Food & drink
Please bring lunch and water with you. Saltaire may have a shop open but we will not be passing any during our walk.
