Approximately 9 Miles with uphill and downhill stretches and some rocky uneven wet moorland

A 9 mile  walk with towers, marked rocks, uphill, downhill, moorland, and great views.

This walk heads upward away from Rothbury and the Coquet and on to the first tower, which is actually a folly that was built to relieve unemployment of stone masons.

It's then over Whitton Burn to the cup and ring marked rock.

The route then continues with views of the Simonside and then down through the woods to the second and last tower. Tosson Tower is a peel tower that was built around 600 years ago as a defence against invading Scots. It was also a refuge for villagers from the Border Reivers.

From the tower it's downward to the Coquet and along to Rothbury for post walk refreshments.
