Roslin & Gilmerton Evening Cycle (Edinburgh)

Climbing out of Edinburgh to the south up to Fairmilehead we head for Roslin (a chance to glance at the chapel for those who have not done so) before turning along the cycleway to Gilmerton and back to Haymarket. See the route here: https://www.strava.com/routes/4375376
The aim of the ride is to build up fitness for longer rides later in the season. Road bikes are best for this run though hybrid bikes will have to work a lot harder to keep up! No-one will get left behind, however you must have a reasonable level of fitness.
This has parts of the route that have quite a bit of traffic. Care and attention will be required whilst riding through it.
What to bring
Make sure you bring a lightweight coat in case it rains and a puncture repair kit.
Food & drink
Please bring snacks and drink to keep you going. We won't be stopping en-route for any food. There is a pub next to the station at Haymarket.
