The Vale of Pewsey is a broad, green river valley to the north of Salisbury Plain.  At its eastern end is the summit of the Kennet and Avon Canal, and rail line from London through to Westbury; to the west is the Wiltshire town of Devizes. To the north is the ridge of the Pewsey Downs, on which runs Wansdyke, the White Horse Trail and the Mid Wilts Way.

Our walk takes in both the valley and the hills, with a little section of the canal, for good measure.  We'll mainly be walking on field boundary paths with the occasional section of road and towpath. There can be quite a lot of mud on these in the winter, so please come prepared!

Well-behaved dogs are welcome on this walk.
