Park Run - Sheffield - Millhouses

Join me and lots of other folk for a 5k run at Millhouses Park in Sheffield.
Parkrun is weekly event that takes place every Saturday at locations across the UK. Whilst I'll be running you can walk or jog the 5k at your own pace. I've been park running for 5 years and enjoy the positive, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere created at these events. As someone who wouldn't call myself a runner, these events are a great way to motivate you to get up and active on a Saturday morning. There is no time limit and no one finishes last. The Couch to 5k App can be really useful as you develop your 5k runs.
We will meet at 8:40 in the park near the skate park (I'll be wearing a ODL t-shirt) where you can listen to the parkrun briefing and route for this parkrun before the run starts at 9am prompt. You can register for Parkrun and get your own barcode from www.parkrun.org.uk to scan at the end of your run to record your finish time if you wish, However you do not need to do this to take part in the run if you don't want to.
Course Description: Just under three clockwise laps of the park, starting from near the skate park. On the final lap, take a sharp right turning to go into the finish funnel. The course is flat and all on tarmac paths, but most of all, fun! We ask participants to please stay on the paths at all times to avoid damage to any of the ornamental areas of the park. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed at this event.
Post run drink: After the run we can look to grab a drink from a local cafe or The Waggon and Horses which is the venue suggested by parkrun.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.

What to bring
Consider the weather ahead of setting off for your park run. It is important that you stay cool when running so try to pick lightweight clothing. Materials like polyester & nylon are perfect for the warmer months and wool is better suited for the winter. You don't need to invest in expensive running gear t-shirt and shorts, leggings will be fine, as well as a warm jumper for when you finish.
It might seem obvious, but running shoes are specifically designed for running, so you should wear them when you running if you have some. Trainers will be fine but wont provide as good cushioning or comfort.
Food & drink
I would suggest bringing a drink of water to re hydrate after your run and you may wish to bring a snack bar or banana.
