In conjunction with the Autumn Nights at Wasdale hostel, join some of the attendees for the Muncaster Castle parkrun on Saturday 18 November.

I have created this Telegram group for everyone to chat and plan!

Muncaster Castle parkrun is an undulating 3 lap course on wide tarmac and gravel tracks. The route goes down the main drive and bears right at the track split. It then goes anti-clockwise around the castle, past views of England’s highest mountain, then back to the start which is the turnaround and finish area.

The start / finish of the 5k route is inside the Muncaster Castle estate but all participants must exit the estate at the end of parkrun. Access is granted by the Muncaster Estate for the purpose of the event.

You run / walk at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people, completion is a personal goal, not a race.

Taking part in the parkrun is free, but everyone must register here in order to receive your time.  The official start of the run is 9am and it is roughly a 30 minute drive to the car park from Wasdale.  As such, I've put an 08.00 gathering time at the hostel.

Several hostel attendees have also expressed an interest in taking part in a short hike after the park run; as such the aim is to return to Wasdale by 11.00.

For anyone who completes the course in a fairly quick time 20-40 minutes, we may have time to grab a quick brew at the Gateway Cafe, as long as we allow enough time to get to the hostel.
