Millington lies on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, spitting distance of Pocklington and easily access from York, Hull and North Yorkshire. This walk follows part of the Minster Way, connecting York and Beverley. It takes us through beautiful Givendale, past a small church amongst the trees and along a path with great views of the vale of York. On clear days, York Minster is prominent. The route continues through couples of woods, the second running alongside the golf course at Kilnwick Percy and at its dispersal gives a good view of Pocklington. The route at this point travel directly across the golf course before depositing us at Kilnwick Percy Hall, now a Buddhist retreat and home to the excellent World Peace café and the opportunity for refreshments. We head back along the Wolds way, before dropping down steeply into Millington. Happily, the cantankerous horse that lived in the field at the top of this descent appears to have mellowed. Millington boasts a pub and a tea shop should further victuals be felt necessary.
