Event Details
Join us for a moderate 7 mile day walk from the reservoir at Tegg's Nose Country Park, through Macclesfield Forest to the summit of Shutlingsloe and back.
We'll set off from the car park near the village of Langley and head towards Macclesfield Forest, climbing steadily towards the summit of Shutlingsloe. On the way, there are some lovely views over the reservoirs and forest to the Cheshire Plain beyond - on a clear day, you can see the telescope at Jodrell Bank.
Shutlingsloe is a relatively modest peak at 506m but be aware that the final ascent is steep. From the top, there are views towards the famous Cat and Fiddle pass and over Wildboarclough.
We'll retrace our steps through the forest and stop for some refreshment at the Leather's Smithy pub, which is about a mile from the end of the walk.
