A gorgeous summer ride up to the lovely city of Cambridge, arriving in time for pimms and punting if so desired!
This is the rescheduled ride from the 'Beast from the East' March cancellation. Our route tries to avoid most major roads and takes us up the picturesque Lea Valley , through the beautiful, gentle countryside of the upper Cam to a fairly quiet and flat approach to the stunning University city of Cambridge with its world famous architecture.
The ride is best suited to road bikes and/or tourers and you should have a reasonable level of fitness to comfortably complete the ride at an average pace of around 13 mph.
What to bring
Please make sure your bike is in full working order. Bring spare inner tubes, pump and levers. At this time of year there could still be rain and wind so please come with waterproof, gloves, and a neck scrunchie/warm top plus glasses and helmet.
Food & drink
Please bring snacks and at least one full bottle of water. We will have a late lunch in Cambridge upon arrival or you are free to get the train back straight away.
