Come along and join us for a few bevvies in Lovely Les-tah!

Catch up with lads you've met on other events or, if you're new to ODL, come along for a chat and find out what a friendly and welcoming bunch we are!

Leicester is a pub-lover’s paradise, with a great selection of traditional pubs serving up real ale alongside friendly charm and a relaxed atmosphere. From vintage taverns to specialist ale houses and contemporary gastro-pubs, the city is a must-visit for any beer enthusiast. The city's great selection of traditional pubs includes more than 30 Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) pubs.

Leicester is the home of award-winning breweries such as Everards, established in Leicester in 1849, as well as a range of newer local micro-breweries.  What better place to have a few beers?!

Leicester is also the home of Burleigh's Gin, which runs a dedicated gin bar in the city.

The evening will follow a formula that has proven popular at other similar events in the East Mids: we'll meet at Tønne Bar from 7.30pm, then a little later we will make our way to a couple more great CAMRA pubs nearby (Blue Boar, The Two-Tailed Lion, Rutland and Derby etc), sampling the ales (and other beverages, for non-beer-drinkers) along the way.  Once the main social ends, some of us may well decide to head on to the Dover Castle, Leicester’s oldest and busiest gay pub.

Look out for the leader in his ODL t-shirt when you arrive.

Tønne has an outside seating area, which may be nice if the weather is fine but it doesn't currently serve food. If you want to grab a bite to eat ahead of the hoards arriving at Tønne, Skip will be eating at Crafty Burger across the street at St Martin's Coffee from about 6.15pm.  (I will provide more information on the possibility of getting food closer in the pre-event briefing closer to the event date).

Leicester has plenty of good value accommodation for anyone thinking of staying over to attend the Leicester Ale Trail.  Message the event the leader for guidance on where to stay or if you have any other questions before the event.

For those coming from Nottingham the leader will make sure you make the last train home!

Your First ODL Event?

Attending your first event with OutdoorLads might feel daunting. What will happen, who will be there, and what can you expect?

We know that new members in particular like to know in advance more about what an OutdoorLads event will be like.

If this is your first ODL event, you should check out the information designed specifically for you on the My First Event page on the ODL website.
