Lake District Road Ride - North Christmas Party 2018
4 people attending
8 places left
Join us on this 60km circular road ride visiting Conniston Water, Lake Windermere and Esthwaite Water. The ride starts at Langdale YHA, the venue of the BIG North Christmas Party 2018. If you are not part of the hostel event, come for the day, more the merrier.
Keep an eye on the forecast. If the roads are icy or weather conditions particularly minging the event may be cancelled.
Pace and Terrain
On small country roads, with a healthy dollop of climbing (1,130m).
The event pace and route is designed for road bikes rather than hybrids and is aimed at those who are reasonably bike fit. Will, the leader has had too much cake recently and not as sprightly as he has been, so don't panic if there are a few cobwebs on your bike. It's winter conditions so we don't want to be hanging around too much.

Small snacks: such as chocolate or energy bars
Plenty of water: in bottle/s on your bike or in a daysack/bladder

Storage: small day-sack or a bag on your bike
Mobile Phone: keep it in a waterproof bag for use in emergencies
Food & drink
Bring plenty of snacks. We shall hopefully stop for a pub lunch and cake, though a handy pub may not present itself at a convenient location (they keep closing down!)
