145m total ascent over the 11.5km (7.2 miles) walk, possibly some mud on footpaths.

Join Justin and Matt on a 11.5km walk to Kissingate Brewery in the small village of Lower Beeding. Note that the main event of this walk is beer and a visit to the open day here.  There will be food, beer, entertainment, beer, Live Music and, you guessed it beer.  The event is best enjoyed if you like beer (other drinks available) and are happy to stay at the festival for a few hours.  Of course, if people wanted, they could pause for food and a drink then head back with instructions to Horsham when they wish.

Their website says "Kissingate's Octoberfest is one of our favourite annual events. Its a celebration of the onset of winter and a chance to get the woodburners lit, fire up the BBQ, and showcase some of our very special dark and pale beers. Some will be one-offs, so if you enjoy trying new and rare you are in for a treat!  As usual we'll have cider, perry, wine, Prosecco, artisan gin, soft drinks, hot chocolate, teas & coffee etc. A selection of Bunny's legendary homemade savouries & sweet bakes will be on offer throughout the day too."  See www.kissingate.co.uk

We will leave Horsham at 10.30am and walk south into the countryside on a varied route of footpaths, country roads, open views and woodland for 11.5km.  We will not stop for lunch as the idea is to get to the event.  We will arrive around 1.00pm (assuming reasonable pace and prompt start.  There is food at the event but if you wish to bring a packed lunch then I'm sure you will be able to find a corner to eat it.  There will be 14 beers, Ciders, Perry, Wine and soft drinks on sale. There may also be morris men so don't forget your bells and hanky if you want to join in.

The walk will finish here.  The intention is to walk back to Mannings Heath and catch the bus from there back to the railway station.  I'll put together a map on how to get to the station as people may wish to go back at different times.  Buses are at 10 past and 20 to the hour from here to Horsham until 19.10pm.  I'm expecting to stay around 3hours so I'm likely to be the 16.40 or 17.10 bus back (subject to change).  If a number wish to leave together there is also a possibility of getting a taxi back to Horsham (keep back some change to make splitting the fare simple).

NOTE - The end time of the event will vary as people are free to leave and get the bus back to the start when they wish.  The formal walk will end at the Brewery.
