Hills around Marple
Join John and Andrew for a hill walk from Marple. After following a short section of the Peak Forest Canal to visit the impressive Aqueduct which crosses the River Goyt we will pass under the aqueduct to follow the Etherow Valley through the popular Etherow and Werneth Country Parks After reaching the Derbyshire Border we will cross the valley and head back to Marple over the little visited Ludworth Moors with fine views across to Kinder Edge to the East and Cheshire and beyond should the weather is kind. Finally passing through the hamlet Mill Brow and a visit to Mellor Church before finishing in Marple Bridge with several pubs should anyone require a well earned drink.

What to bring
The weather is unpredictable so wrap up warm and bring waterproofs.
It could be muddy in places so boots are essential, not your best trainers or leather shoes.
Food & drink
Please bring a packed lunch with plenty of food and drink to last you all day.
We will probably go for a drink in one of the local pubs at the end of the walk.
