Mull of Kintyre - 3 nights

Saddell House is a rather grand and spacious venue, something of a contrast to your average OutdoorLads weekend away, and it has a commanding position over Saddell Bay as well as having touches such as stags heads lining the wood panelled dining room; so come away for the weekend and relax in Edwardian style.

This spot was chosen by the Bishop of Argyll in 1500 as the location for a new castle, however this was demolished and replaced by the current building in 1774 and befits the status of the laird of the lands in the area. However disaster struck in 1899 when fire took hold of the building, fortunately the walls survived and in 1900 it was rebuild as a period Edwardian house. More recently Saddell Bay was the video location for Paul McCartney's song 'Mull of Kintyre'.

Join us for three nights in deepest, darkest Argyllshire as we have a weekend exploring the Mull of Kintyre.  An area away from the tourists because of its location - it's 3.5 hours drive from Glasgow! - where we can wander along the Kintyre way, explore deserted beaches and hidden coves along the coast line, or a short drive up the coast is Carradale with a number of walks that take in the views across to Arran.  Or even just pop across the road and have a tranquil time in the ruins of Saddell Abbey.
