9.3 miles (15km) and 460m ascent.

Join OutdoorLads for a walk around and along the tops of the Goyt Valley.

The walk will take in Shining Tor, the highest point in Cheshire making it a challenging climb and an excellent viewpoint. In clear conditions Winter Hill near Bolton, the city of Manchester and much of the Cheshire Plain can be seen, including the radio telescopes at Jodrell Bank.

We will also visit Errwood Reservoir which was built by the Stockport Water Corporation and completed in 1967 to supply water to the town and surrounding area. On the walk we will climb to the top of Shining Tor and Cats Tor and drop down to visit the Spanish Shrine, the ruins of Errwood Hall and the reservoir itself. The terrain is varied, including open moorland, forest and lakeside.

The walk is just over 9 miles with some steep sections.
