EVENT POSTPONED - Above Princes Risborough in the Chilterns
2 people attending
19 places left
This event has been postponed to later in the summer /autumn.
This is a circular walk, approximately 10.5 miles in length.
We start from Princes Risborough station. Heading out of the town to the South East, we quickly leave urban life behind as we head into the hills.
After a short sharp ascent, we reach the summit of Whiteleaf Hill with commanding views north across the Vale of Aylesbury. We pick up parts of the Icknield Way and Chiltern Way strolling through ancient forests and across fields with majestic red kites flying overhead. Passing Hampden House and its cute little church, we drop down to Great Hampden and a quaint pub for a drinks stop.
Our return takes us past a traditional windmill, through the village of Loosley Row perched on the hillside, with the final mile or so on the valley floor adjacent to the railway line.
There will be a sister walk taking in the Chinoor and PR Railway later in the year, so watch this space.
