Fancy an amazing Sunday Lunch, with huge portions served by super friendly staff in a great atmosphere? Join Paul on this easy any one any bike ride in Manchester.
Our last Sunday ride of Autumn is to Manchester's destination cycle cafe, restaurant, bar and community hangout serving breakfast, brunch. lunch, evening food and best of all their renowned Sunday roasts. Getting there and back is an 11-mile round trip and our lunch stop for a delicious roast lunch is roughly halfway round.
This ride, suggested by one of our newest members, is perfect if you are fairly new to cycling or haven't ridden for a while. Or if you're an experienced cyclist in the mood for something a little more sociable, this is the ride for you too.
Starting from the city centre, we'll head down Oxford Road using the dedicated cycle lane. This takes us past Manchester University and the Whitworth Gallery, then along the famous curry mile to Fallowfield. Here we'll join the Fallowfield Loop and before we know it, we'll be stopping for lunch in Levenshulme.
If you're too full to cycle after lunch, there's a train station just along the road so there's an option of jumping on a train back to Piccadilly station. The plan is to continue along the Fallowfield Loop as far as Debdale. We'll then follow a cycle trail through Gorton and Openshaw to join the Ashton Canal tow path, which takes us back into the city centre.

Pace and Terrain
This will be a leisurely cycle suitable for those of all levels of fitness. The route is relatively traffic free and flat all the way round. The terrain is level, apart from a few cobbled sections on the canal tow path. Distance wise the full route is 11 miles, but if 5 or 6 miles is plenty for you, feel free to get the train back from the halfway point after lunch. There will be no pressure to complete the full route.
If you're not a regular cyclist, please do make sure your bike is in good condition - check the tyres are well inflated, chain is oiled, and you've got a spare inner tube, drinks and snacks with you.
