PART OF THE EASTER TRAD CLIMBING WEEKEND:

A day's outdoor trad climbing at High Neb in the Peak District, suitable for those who already have some outdoor climbing experience. If you only have indoor lead climbing and lead belaying experience, whether this event is suitable for you will depend on the availability of suitably experienced outdoor climbers. Please message the event leader to discuss, before registering.

The plan will be to climb at the High Neb area of the extensive offerings at Stanage Edge, and we will assemble at the car park that end (instead of our usual gathering place nearer the popular end). We will meet at 10am and go over arrangements for the day, and walk up to the crag at 10.15am, so please be on time or be prepared to make your own way to the crag if late.

To attend this event, you will need to have attended an indoor climbing event with OutdoorLads, and be competent in tying in with a figure 8 knot, and Lead-Belaying a climbing partner. If you are unsure about the difficulty of the event, or whether you have necessary skills & experience, please message the event leader with your questions.

DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY OF LEAD CLIMBERS, THE NUMBER OF SECONDER CLIMBING PLACES MAY NEED TO BE RESTRICTED AND THIS WILL BE DONE ON A FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED BASIS.

What about Accommodation? This isn't a full hostel or camping weekend in the usual OutdoorLads style, so you're free to pick your own accommodation according to your preference (requirement for comfort or luxury), budget and location. However, most of us will be staying nearby for the weekend. Those camping will at Hardhurst Farm Campsite a few miles up the Hope Valley, and a few others will be at a bunkhouse at Thorpe Farm, Hathersage. Please Message the Event Leader  if you're interested in either of these options.
