Join Andrew on this walk along river banks, field paths and quiet lanes. We will start our walk on the corner of Gay Street in the village of Mells, a beautiful village with 17th century limestone building. Mells is home of an Elizabethan manor and a fifteenth century coaching inn. From there we will pass through the villages of Whatley and Nunney, taking in the remains of ironworks that contributed significantly to the area’s economy in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Weather permitting, we will stop and eat out lunch in the grounds of Nunney Castle. From there, we will pass along the side of a quarry, pass by Finger Farm before returning to the village of Mells.
