34 miles (54 km) with 417m of ascent.

Join us for a short afternoon cycle around East Ayrshire's former industrial heartland.

Our circular route of approximately 34 miles will take us along B-class and minor roads through former opencast mining areas into the Doon Valley, past the Dunaskin former iron works and heritage railway centre to reach the small market town of Dalmellington. From there we will complete our circuit on a B-road through the north edge of the Carsphairn Forest close to the source of the River Nith.

A map of the proposed route can be found here.

The ride has been planned as a 'warm-up' event for our Doukin' in the Dark (Summer Night Swim) at the recently refurbished outdoor swimming pool in New Cumnock - please book separately for this event if you are interested in staying on for this.
