Setting off from our meeting place with pick up the path of an old disused railway that used to take visitors to what was the Devils Dyke hotel. Arriving at the dyke we will admire the stunning views and then pick up the the rolling hills of the south downs way heading west.
On to Truleigh Hill with its hidden secret nuclear bunker that at one point was repurposed as a nightclub. We begin our descent off the Downs passing the youth hostel that hosted the first ODL South Christmas event back in 2008.
Making our descent down Beeding Hill we cross the River Adur picking up the downs link path to Bramber and then on to Monarch's Way we will climb the mighty Steyning Bowl minding our batts!
Pressing on and up stopping at Chanctonbury Ring for lunch we will drink in the views.
After lunch we will leave the ring and head down passing through Lancing Ring a nature reserve we arrive back in civilisation heading down to the seafront and pick up the coastal path towards Brighton and Hove.
We will stop for a drink at Rockwater Bar on the seafront and then head back to our starting place and here the event will end.
