Dean's Wood and Fairy Glen Linear Day walk

Join Stephen on a 12 mile linear walk in and around the River Douglas valley in Lancashire taking in a number of interesting locations. Highlights will be -

• Beginning the walk from Parbold with a quick train ride to Gathurst
• Walking up through Dean Wood  through woodlands and  past waterfalls
• Climbing up on to Ashurst Beacon a local folly with views across to Liverpool and  Wales
• Meandering back down the hill then walking along the Leeds to Liverpool canal for a bit
• Ascending up through Fairy Glen
• Walk  up onto Parbold Hill with views across to the Pennines and the coast
• Finishing the walk in the village of Parbold at the bottom of the hill
• then visting one of the local pubs for some well earned post walk drinks
