Rubbish at rock-overs and feeling feeble footwork lets your climbing down? This session is aimed at improving your balance, poise and power so that you’ll be able to tackle these tricksy climbs with more ease and confidence.
Get guidance from a professional climbing coach provided by the climbing centre and focus on improving your skills with this 75-minute-long group movement coaching session specially organised for Outdoorlads. You’ll be shimmying up those tricksy problems with your nifty new moves and fancy footwork in no time!
The session content will be tailored to the experience of the group, however ideally you'll already be bouldering at around V2 or above to make the most of this session.
Please remember that for your own safety and comfort, please make sure you arrive at the centre in good time to allow you to warm up before the coaching session starts!
The cost of this event covers the cost of the professional coaching session only. You will still need to pay for entry to the centre as outlined in the detailed event information below.
What to bring
You don't need much equipment for bouldering at all. The only specialist kit you will need are rock climbing shoes which can be hired from the centre if you haven't got your own - for this event only, it's included for free in your entry fee.
There are cubby holes for your bags and optional secure lockers for valuables which require you to bring your own padlock.
What to Wear
We usually advise people to wear either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms with a t-shirt or vest. No jeans or any form of trouser which hampers movement. Please try and wear any OutdoorLads branded clothing as this will give the group a good level of visibility.
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session to prevent injury.
Food & drink
There won't be a planned break, but we encourage everyone to take a rest for a snack and to rehydrate during the session. There is a cafe area at the centre where hot and cold drinks along with snacks and cake can be purchased. Water fountains are available to refill your water bottles.
