There are several ascents on the coast path and inland. Expect mud.

England's second oldest National Trail, the Cleveland Way, was opened in May 1969. This day walk from Saltburn-by-the-Sea takes in two distinct stretches of the Way, plus a stretch of the much lesser know "Cleveland Street".

We can also celebrate Saltburn Pier's 150th anniversary too. This is the only traditional pier on the NE coast.

The whole route is a blend of coast past and cliffs, iron and steel heritage, and woodland route on a 12 mile circuit.

We might well indulge in fish and chips at the end of the walk, back in Saltburn.
