BSumC 2021 - Picnic at Climping
42 people attending
3 places left
This event is intended for attendees at BIG Summer Camp 2021.
A nice peaceful picnic lunch with new friends on the beach at Climping (just West Of Littlehampton).
We'll meet at the Big Summer Camp site, sort out who needs lifts then make our own ways down to Climping.
Parking at Climping, Atherington, Littlehampton BN17 5RN, recent reports are that parking is free but they may charge in season.
Bring your own lunch, book an ODL Big Summer Camp Picnic Lunch, or pop into a shop and buy something on the way, your choice. There is even a Beach Cafe.
Once there we'll head East along the beach (look out to sea and turn left) until we can find a clear patch to put up the ODL red flag.
Climping beach is mainly shingle and pebbles held in place by a series of wooden groynes. There are sand dunes above the beach much of which is a nature reserve. When the tide goes out it leaves miles of open sand.
Climping beach has been used as a film location in 2 episodes of Dr Who; The Terror of the Zygons and The Enemy of the World. https://www.doctorwholocations.net/locations/climpingbeach.
Stay as long as you want to, the finishing time is for guidance only.
