NOTE that the e-mail was incorrect - this event is on Saturday, not Sunday!
This event is part of BIG Peaky Weekender 2025 and participation is intended for those attending the weekend event.
We'll go round the house, get some lunch and then walk around the gardens together.
- you will need to book your own House & Garden ticket here: https://www.chatsworth.org/visit-chatsworth/book-tickets/ - please note tickets cost £32 (or £35 with donation) and we will all be trying to get on the 1100 entry time.
Chatsworth House is renowned for its art, landscape and hospitality, and has evolved through the centuries to reflect the tastes, passions and interests of succeeding generations of the Devonshire family. The Devonshire Collections includes works of art that span 4,000 years, from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculpture, and masterpieces by Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese, to work by outstanding modern artists, including Lucian Freud, Edmund de Waal and David Nash. There are over 25 rooms to explore, including the magnificent Painted Hall, regal State Rooms, restored Sketch Galleries and atmospheric Sculpture Gallery.
- Chatsworth suggests allocating 1.5+ hours to explore the house, but some visitors find they can see the main highlights in less time if they aren't stopping in each room for extended periods.
The 105 acre garden is the product of nearly 500 years of careful cultivation. Over this time, although some points of interest were replaced to make way for new fashions, the garden retains many early features, including the Canal Pond, Cascade and 1st Duke's Greenhouse.
- Chatsworth has 105 acres of gardens to explore, and a couple of hours is a good amount of time to allow.
For food, there are plenty of options for varying hunger levels (detailed here: https://www.chatsworth.org/visit-chatsworth/shop-dine-stay/dine/) and we'll reconvene after lunch to walk round the gardens together - I will confirm timings for this in the pre-event message.
- Please ensure you book your own ticket at the link above - booking online also include free parking.
- House timeslots are limited, so if you can't get on the 1100 timeslot, feel free to book one either side and join us for lunch/ the garden walk. If you do book a different time, please let me know.
Any questions, please drop me a message.
