This is a relatively gentle but superb walk taking in a wide variety of scenery.  We will start by walking alongside the River Dove. This is the same river that flows through the more famous Dovedale, but here its a bit wilder and more unspoiled but still very pretty with small cascading waterfalls.

We then leave the riverside and head up into Biggin Dale, a dry dale, a large part of which is designated as a National Nature Reserve.  We will reach the tiny village of Biggin and will stop for lunch at the The Waterloo Inn, a popular village pub with a real fire and great home cooked food.

After lunch we will walk along the Tissington trail, which follows the former railway line between Buxton and Ashbourne.  Much of it is on an embankment and, weather permitting, we should get great views over the surrounding countryside.

Although we won't finish in time for the Nottingham murder mystery you can always pop in for the social afterwards.
