Please note that this event is intended for those attending the BIG North Christmas 2018 hostel event.
From Langdale this walk heads out towards Walthwaite before doubling back and heading on up between Raven Crag and Dow Bank. Grasmere then comes into view. Before heading down towards Grasmere there'll be plenty time to take in the view. It's then down to the water and along it to cross the bridge before a lunch/snack stop at the picnic benches.
It's then up and onto the Coffin Route. The Coffin Route was used to convey coffins from Ambleside to St Oswalds church in Grasmere. From the Coffin Route it's then on to Rydal Hall where we'll likely stop for cake and a wander round the grounds. The hall is a 15th century grade 2 listed building.
After cake and a wander it's then back along Rydal Water rising up to Loughrigg terrace where there are yet more stunning views. It's then into Deerbolts Woods and back to the hostel.
