Get your next New Year planned early and come and see in 2020 with OutdoorLads at our brand new, four night BIG Event - BIG New Year in the Peaks 2019!
Your BIG Events Team are super, super excited to be bringing you this brand new BIG Event for 2019, and when you've been and seen the venue you will absolutely understand why!
Mount Cook Adventure Centre is the perfect venue for an OutdoorLads event, purpose built and brand new, in the heart of the Peak District but just a short walk on pavements to the historic town of Wirksworth, and with all manner of great activities right on the doorstep. The famous High Peak Trail even passes through the grounds, and there's a zip line that goes from the roof of the building down into the old quarry below! Yes - you can have a go!
We'll be arranging a great programme of free and paid-for activities to help you #getoutmore over these few days, including stunning walks, exhilerating cycling options, the aforementioned Zip Line, the fantastic on-site high and low ropes course and so much more!
We'll be keeping you entertained in the evenings too with the OutdoorLads bar, films shown in the movie room, and a proper OutdoorLads party night for New Years Eve until the small hours with our very own DJ Dan spinning the tunes on the dancefloor.
(Did you know you can hire our portable bar for your own events, birthdays, weddings and parties - and raise money for a charity of your choice and/or OutdoorLads at the same time. Click here for more details).
We'll have a real party night that evening with an optional theme to be announced nearer the time. There's plenty of space for all to socialise and enjoy the venue, whatever you want to do.
We even have a range of accommodation options for you. Book to say in the spacious 4-bed ensuite dorm rooms (book on this page) or choose one of the centrally-heated pods for two, just outside the building and with easy access to toilets and showers.
For the really hardy amongst us - you can also camp on site in your own tent! You will need to make sure you're a hardy camper with the right kit, obviously, but you would still have all the benefits of our catering, entertainment and activities.
So what are you waiting for? Come and see in a brand new decade with OutdoorLads and party like it's 2020 (!) with a spectacular New Year of fun, friends old and new, and so many chances to #GetOutMore!
We should mention - this event finishes on the 2nd of January, and so is a four night event. We've been able to secure this fourth night at a great price, and doing so means that there is no rush for people to leave in the morning of New Years Day. Those that can do so, can stay for the fourth night. We totally understand that many people will leave at some point during New Years Day, and that's fine. For that reason, food on the fourth night is not included, but we'll make plans for food at the time - which could include the wood-fired outside pizza oven that cooks a pizza in two minutes! :-)
How to book
- Book the 4-bed ensuite hostel rooms on this page that you are currently on!
- Book the 2-person pods on this page here (if you are sharing with a partner or friend, tell us who on check in. You'll both need to book the pods option.)
- Book a camping pitch on this page here (you brave soul! All meals and entertainment still included.)
- Book a campervan / caravan / motorhome space here. Dogs are allowed, but not permitted in the building at any time.
What to bring
Bedding is provided, but not towels. If you are staying in a pod, you may wish to bring additional bedding, although there is central heating in the pods.
Food & drink
We will have our usual OutdoorLads buffet on the first day, Sunday - usually served around 8pm. We'd love it if people make an extra effort to bring dishes they've made themselves!
The price includes breakfast each day, which will be continental style, except on New Years Day when we'll be providing a cooked brunch instead. Evening meals on Monday and on Tuesday are included. On Tuesday, which is New Years Eve, we'll have a three-course roast dinner with all the trimmings to celebrate the arrival of 2020 in style!
We've not included meals on the fourth evening, as we guess that some people will have left on New Years Day. If you are staying that night, it will be your responsibility to pay for food for that meal, but we will make arrangements on the day when we know who is staying.
Tea and coffee are provided all weekend. You will need to provide any other drinks - don't forget we will have the full OutdoorLads bar on site, please support it as all money raised is ploughed back into the organisation to help us all to #getoutmore.
