Join me on a stroll through the urban landscape of South London, from Nunhead to the heights of the site of the Crystal Palace.
Meeting at Nunhead Station at 2pm, we'll climb for two hours, through three cemeteries, the wonderful Sydenham woods, and through some very steep climbs on urban pathways, to the summit of Crystal Palace. Here we'll view the site of the once huge Crystal Palace that dominated the Victorian and Edwardian landscape of South London until it burnt down in 1936. We'll be able to view the stunning Crystal Palace subway where they have a craft market, that is viewable until 4pm.
After this, we'll find a pub for a nice Sunday lunch.
What to bring
Sturdy shoes / trainers to walk on urban tarmac paths in summer.
Food & drink
