it's a race

There's plenty of time now to train for any distance!

Join us for a 13km,  26km, 48km or 85km in the beautiful region of Ardennes - only a couple of hours drive form Calais.

Look at the event website for detail of the races.

https://www.ardennes-megatrail.com/

Registration opens 1 January 2024 - it's advisable you book on your chosen race (or races) asap.

We'll be staying at a local campsite from Thursday / Friday until Monday

Basic costs:

Race - £12-£70 depending on race choice

Camping - a range of options from basic tent to cabins with catering - we'll be staying at https://www.lecampinglefaucon.com/

To note - neither the camping nor the run is organised or provided by OutdoorLads. The run is organised by a third party. You'll need to make your own arrangements to book the run, the campsite, and for travel. However, this event page is to get a group of interested OutdoorLads together so that we can make arrangements together and have some friendly faces to see when we are there!

Key info

Flights - nearest airports Brussels or Luxembourg - or 3.5 hours drive from Calais.

Whilst the race is quite a way off, we'd like to book accommodation by the beginning of March - if you sign up after then, we'll do our best to sort something out...

Be aware of French rules, which mean you'll need a letter from your doctor to say that you can enter the race. (Please google this if unsure  - but it is a requirement for all races in France.)

What we'll be doing

You'll make your own way to the campsite - we'll be there from the Thursday evening, plan to cater for your self on the first night - be flexible, the campsite and village maybe very busy.

Friday, you'll need to register for your chosen race(s)  We'll eat together at the campsite on the Friday night

Saturday, all the races start at different times, the day will depend on who is entering which race, we'll eat on the campsite in the evening.

Sunday, after breakfast we'll make some plans to explore the local area for the day. Head home depending on individual travel arrangements.

We'll set up a WhatsApp group to make plans

You will need to be self sufficient!!

If you have any questions, please contact David, the event leader, by sending him a message - just click on his profile at the bottom of the page.
